RMG Ghana Limited, the number one leading crop protection agro processing company has stepped in to revive the ailing Ghanaian agriculture sector.
The company which has specialize in crop protection to guarantee high yields for farmers is poised to offer the requisite inputs and technical direction for small holder farmers in the country.
The move according to the managing director Mr. William Kotey will afford farmers the opportunity to acquire quality inputs to man their farms and increase food production to meet both local and international market.
He said this during the official launching of the Kumasi office of the company over the weekend.
At a colourful ceremony to outdoor the new office, the managing director, disclosed to GARDJA that, Ashanti region is a hub of agro-business hence the need to get closer to our farmers, by providing them with the necessary advice on how to apply chemicals on crops and also make the inputs available to the farmers on time to avoid unnecessary delays in getting input during planting season.
The company which has been in operation for the last four years in Ghana has helped small holder farmer groups particularly in the north.
“We have engaged the service of agronomist to provide technical support service on how to maximize its output”, he said.
He also implored Ghanaian farmers to take advantage of technology in the agro-business in order to meet the global market.
He disputed the fact that farmers are poor; farmers shouldn’t be poor with the current supply of modern agro inputs and technology to advance their course.
He noted that, some farmers do not apply the exact quantity of agro chemicals on their crops, and that negatively affect the output of their crops.
It is in light of this that RMG Ghana Ltd seeks the support of stakeholders in the agric sector to help find lasting solution to the deteriorating state of the agriculture sector.
