Two peasant blind farmers, Kwame Torsi and Mensah Torsi at the Tonkoase No1, a suburb of New Edubiase in the Adansi South District in Ashanti are appealing to the government, the Member of Parliament for New Edubiase constituency non-governmental organizations, and philanthropists to come to their aid.
The two brothers, Kwame Torsi and Mensah Torsi are fifty-eight and fifty-five years respectfully became blind about twenty (20) years ago.
These brothers have been battling to survive since they went blind about twenty years ago.
The blind brothers who have nobody to take care of them, farm by themselves before they can get their daily bread.
Speaking to Oyerepa News’ Richard Kusi, one of them, Mensah Torsi said they do almost all their household chores or activities by themselves.
The brothers live together in a very dilapidated mud structure which could collapse on them anytime soon.
Mensah Torsi appealed to Government, the Ministry of Gender and children protection, the member of parliament for the New Edubiase constituency, non- governmental organizations, and philanthropists to come to their aid and build a befitting house to accommodate them.
This dilapidated mud single room structure serves as their kitchen, storeroom, and bedroom.
Mr. Kwame Torsi has no child while Mr. Mensah Torsi is having three children but no wife.
None of the three (3) children is in school due to the economic hardship their father is going through.
He charged strong and energetic young people in the country to put their energy into good use and stop engaging in social vices like stealing.
