COCOBOD Boss and German DZ Bank tour cocoa farms

opniDr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board and his team of officers, last week hosted two senior officials of the DZ Bank Germany in Ghana.

The two-member delegation by made of Priska Herz-Alfousseni and Dagmar Werner visited cocoa farms and hybrid cocoa nurseries in some parts of Eastern Region and interacted with farmers.

Priska and Dagmar are Senior Vice President and Head of Structured Trade and Commodity Finance respectively; and are based in Germany.

The hybrid seedlings are supposed to be distributed free of charge to the farmers in March, this year.

They are Pests and disease resistant, high yielding. They are to replace overage farms, disease-stricken plants and abandon cocoa farms across the country.

The team was also impressed with the US$750 million Cocoa Roads Project embarked upon my the John Mahama administration in all cocoa from areas across the country.
