Dec polls – Ghanaians demand their share of national cake before voting

votingWith few days to the 2016 general elections, a lot of Ghanaian electorates, especially rural dwellers, are putting into practice the old adages that say “make hey when the sun shine” and “strike when the iron is hot”.

Many of them are taking advantage of the election to demand their fair share of the national cake.

Within the past few months, many communities have been piling pressure on government to either fix their road network or provide them with other social amenities.

Latest community to call on government to provide them with portable water and good roads is Sefwi Ahwiafutu near Bonsu nkwanta in the Western region.

Speaking to Fox News, the queenmother of the town, Nana Adwoa Serwaa said they are giving  government few days to fix their road network or they will boycott the December 7, 2016 general elections.

She said though a chunk of  the cocoa and other food stuff produce in Ghana comes from the area, they lack portable drinking water and good roads.
