The Ministry of Fisheries is to build 25 more landing beach sites next year to improve the lives of people in fishing communities.
The Ministry will also build fisheries enforcement units to supervise activities along the Volta lake.
The sector Minister, Sherry Ayittey who announced this at the Meet the Press series in Accra pledge the Ministry’s resolve to reduce the importation of fish.
She said the Ministry will develop the capacity of fisher folks to achieve their aim of reducing fish imports.
Madam Sherry Ayittey also spoke about ten key projects in the Western Region which is expected to create about ten thousand jobs if completed next year.
