The National Best Cassava farmer will receive a milling machine as part of the package for this year.
The mill is part of about 70000 worth of products being donated by Guinness Ghana Breweries.
The company which is the manufacturer of Ghana’s first cassava beer, Ruut Extra, said it has acquired items that will aid growth in the agricultural sector. The other items include five tricycles to the five regional best farmers, fishing net and hooks to the best Western regional fisherman, eight boxes of farming tool kits and 10 boxes of Ruut beer.
The motivation of the company is to support farmers produce consistently to feed the nation and their factory, the acting Corporate Communication Manager at Guinness Ghana Rita Agyeiwaa Rockson told the media.
This is the third successive time the company is supporting the National Farmers’ award. This year’s National Farmers’ Day, the 31st edition, will fall on December 4, 2015 on the theme, “Transform Ghana: Invest in Agriculture”.
It will be held in Bolgatanga in the Upper East region.

Am Extension officer whose objectives is to train farmers on cocoa, educate them on cultural practices, Farmer Business School etc. Please I have group of farmers who want to go into cassava production purposely to sell to the Beer company Guinness Ghana brewery. Please how do i contact them? Now as am talking some farmers have cassava ready for sales. Others want to go into production.
