More and more women are continuing to make it overnight as rich young entrepreneurs in the agro-industry.
IGNITE, a Guzakuza brainchild has sparked wealth and job creation for the female youth through training in the Agric sector.
A survey, conducted by the Small Firms Economic Development Initiative, revealed that 70 percent of such businesses have survived their first 5 years in business with overwhelming success.
To complement government effort, a minimum of 12 ladies are selected each year to undergo a 6 week. intensive residential training sessions.
Over the years, IGNITE has through its women’s capacity-building project, churned out 40 young women.
Most of these women, according to the Initiative, are now meaningfully engaged in managerial and other agric-related firms.
Later in an interview with the media, it came to the light that today 90 percent of Ignite alumni are supplying value-added products and services in the agribusiness sector in Africa.
In an appraisal, 2 of the project’s alumni, Sheila Seluve and Linda Atibilla lauded the efforts of the Initiative which has helped them through rigorous exposure to be able to compete in the business environment as women.
They, therefore, called on all the female youth to embrace this rare opportunity by applying for enrollment in this year October training schedule.
